(This folder may be slightly different if you installed Steam to a different location.)
Copy the downloaded save file into the game’s save directory with the game closed. If you want to keep your current settings, open options.txt (in the same directory) and change this entry:

You can rename your profile in-game by clicking the name at the top of the screen and clicking ‘Rename’.
Other Notes:
- To unlock the ‘Mysterious Challenger’ character, go into the Options and press Advanced, then enable ‘Bonus Content’.
Achievement Unlocks:
- Yes. Will unlock all achievements.
